The potential of Russia

Russia streaches from China to Europe. Russia is only a short ride on a good road or rail from India. Russia has an abundance of natural resourses.

Russia can connect the populations of manufacturers with the populations of consumers. They can build road and rail within thier own boarders to transport raw materials and finished goods, within thier own boarders, to distribution points near where ever the materials or goods are wanted. Russia is doing this with oil, through thier own pipeline, to Europe now and charging the fees they wish and cutting off the supply if the bills arn't paid.

Russia Can connect the greatest population centers and the greatest resourse centers with adequate wealth centers to produce and consume the products made.

Europe, Asia, and the Pacific Rim have about 85% of the worlds population, about 5.2 or 5.3 billion people. The Americas, North, South and all the islands have about 600,000,000 or 10% of the world population. Russia can connect Europe and Asia through thier own boarders.

It definitely has everything it takes to be a super duper power no matter what the will of the country is.

One interesting piece of trivia about Russia is that it has eleven time zones, which makes it challenging for people in Moscow to do business with people in Vladivostok.

It's the text book example of how a government can mess up even the most high potential country.

Yes, but there are examples in it's history when it was just as free and enterprising as America. Siberia was colonized by people no less enterprising and daring than our own pioneers. Last week in his address President Medvedev urged for a modernized Russia with less government interference and with modern industry and less dependence on raw materials. Usually, when the President or Tsar asks, Russsians make it happen.

Besides having a big country, Russians have a great soul.

What you all are saying is very true. The irony of it all is that Russia and China are both trying democratic ways(capitalism),which is working, while Obama and Hillary are pushing socialism. Food for thought.
