These are armymen and armymen shot black powder cannons .... ::)

My wifes DAR chapter found this somewhere , I liked it so here it is ..Now these guys had some time on thier hands !!!

That's correct.  This picture almost gives meaning to the term "hurry up and wait."  As I recall this photo was made in 1918 and supposedly 17,000 men were in the photo.  I've always questioned that number, so someone get busy and count 'em.

I'd say closer to 1700 men, and that might be a bit high

DAR = Daughers of the American Revolution.  Gotta be able to trace your family back to a soldier in the ARW.
