I was making a full length forend for one of my barrels yesterday and kind of dreading bedding it since the Handi is so anal about the how it fits.
Then It occurred to me that I may make a hunting forend for the 45/70.
I keep looking at an old Stevens Crackshot I've had for 40 odd years, with it;s tiny splinter.
Has anyone trued stopping the forend just forward of the stud and tapering it to a splinter?
Seems like if you completely class bedded it to and including the stud, it would eliminate a lot of the accuracy issues.
