I guess my first question about that article to the writer would be: since when did animals have rights, and my second would be; Who the hell cares what Peta thinks about anything anyway?

They are true to their creed. They may have killed them, but there is no evidence that they ate any of them.  ;)

A LITTLE HYPOCRITICAL, YA THINK! They don't want em hunted, shot, or exploited but they wont care for them either, so they gas em!  then again who cares what peta thinks or does.

Dee, animals have rights right here in the Republic of Texas. Your congress has passed a law that basically states that if you kill a dog that is not threatening you or your livesstock you have commited a felony!

well that applys here if you kill my dog.. but my dog is just that.. my responcebility..
rather than dump him on the side of the rd ...i ll put him dn,if it has to be done..
same as any other animal.. its not like its something i would ever look forward to..slim
edit i been on both sides redtail..i usually gave them one warning shot.. of course they weren t running expensive horses..
i once noticed a dog hanging just outa site of the house ..just watching..if i walked toward him or called him he just disappeared..i caught him cuttin zzzs out there one day an slipped up on him .. i held the shotgun
right close to him an let off a rnd..he left ther an i doubt hes stopped running yet..
if id seen him again i would have had to put him dn..
on flip side a neighbor told me my dog was coming up his house one time it seems she had developed a bad habit..i took care of  the problem.. i always hated chains an etc but she forced it on me..slim

i had two that i really loved killed by a a guy down the road. he shot two of my dogs as they were running his horses. as much as it hurt me i told him i understood and said nothing more to him to this day about it. I know if he had just tried to stop the dogs or called me or my kids we could have stopped it.

We would have broke them from that. being raised the way i was in texas i knew that it was my responsibility to make sure my dogs did not harrass him his family or animals.

i will admit it hurt me real bad cause i really did love those dogs.

I guess the rules of the THREE Ss would have to be strictly adhere too huh? At my place a pitbull is a goner just for being a pitbull. We'll just have to argue about it in court I guess.

I never take any satisfaction when I have to shoot someones animals(dogs/cats)! well maybe cats!
But if they care for them they wont be running the country side gettin into mischief! When I do "put one down" it is as humane as I can make it! but it is final and I do SSS

and no POLICE dogs run the roads and harass neighbors! When a police dog is after you you got bigger problems. And peta dont like those either cause they are exploited!

PETA is a billion dollar lobbyist to your elected officials over the issue of hunting rights. I personally would gladly see them discredited ... so no one listens to them anymore. I think its cool that there is a movement to have their headquarters declared a slaughterhouse.

We have a****les that turn their dogs loose on our lease every year then track them on the perimeter with their radios and trucks.   Two seasons ago my son and I were sitting in our blind overlooking our food plot.    This is more than a mile from the perimeter of the lease.   A nice 6 point was walking up into the food plot and stopped at about 75 yds for a nice broadside.   I told my son to squeeze the round off.   Just then the buck bolted - about 2 seconds later a pit bull and hound came tracking in the buck's path.  no one saw those two dogs again.

I understand alligators say dogs taste a lot like chicken.

PETA has nothing to do with animal rights or welfare. They are all about control. Control of you and me.

i had an old pit as a boy .. he pretty much ruled the town.. i later raised them as i loved ole jacks courage.. then i quit when people started raising what i call the pepsi generation of pit bulls..
my dogs were almost too friendly to strangers etc.. but the guys who bought them totally disregarded what i told them about the fact that they were aquiring the magnum dog of dogs..after too many pics of them raging at people at the end of thier chain,,i just got rid ofem..
no small child should be left alone with an animal that has been inbred so much for thier gameness an fighting ability ,that they are far too unpredictable.. as far as that goes most any large dog capable of inflicting terrible damage should be left alone with small children ,,who might pull ole rovers ears just a bit too hard one day..
now i know many will site thier successes with doing this sort of thing.. but for me ,,its a bit to much of a chance of things going very bad,,very quick..now small dogs bite also but the difference in potential
catastrophy is what make me lean toward smaller dogs for childrens pets..
i know of golden retrievers ,saintbernards ,rotts and of course the magnum dogs that have been guilty of killing children as well as adults..
my kids have been taught not to chance it..not with my grandkids.. slim

The folks in charge of PETA do not and never have cared one whit about animals or their welfare. They are anti hunting/anti gun to the core and that is all they are about. They use animal welfare as a cover to get funds from folks who do care about animal welfare and in the process drain millions of dollars that otherwise might go to legitmate animal welfare groups to fund their hatred of guns and hunting.

More than a few years ago a friend of mine was hounded the some bunny huggers while deer hunting, they dogged him into the woods clear to his stand and made sure no deer came his way. Next day he was back, so were they, about 8 or 10 of them. He warned them not to follow him, they laughed. He went way past his stand and led them several miles, stopping a while then going forward again, getting deeper and deeper in the woods. He grew up in that area and knew it well, they did not. He stopped to eat a bite and rested often, they too would stop. He had food and water, they did not. He kept it up, going in big   circles,  til an hour or so before dark then sat down and leaned up against a big tree. After dark he slipped away and went home. They never bothered him again. POWDERMAN.  :D :D

slim rem 7, you have a point about the dogs you speak of randomly attacking or being provoked by kids.

I actually have scars on my face from where my mother's cocker spaniel randomly attacked me while I was playing in the kitchen floor when I was 5. I was no where near the dog. She just flipped and attacked.

Charlie, that reminds me of a story from my youth when I was a hunting guide in SW Colorado. The late "Coyote" Don Johnson drew a once in a lifetime mountain goat licence for an area in the Needles mountains. The hunting spot is very remotes and is reached by being dropped off of the Silverton Durango narrow gauge railroad. Upon setting up camp he was met in this very romote area by some Petards. Everywhere Don went these bozo's went and made sure they scared away any game. He was bow hunting and thought of killing them and dumping them in an abandoned mine. Instead of killing them he decided to do as the wolverine would. The next morning he awoke early and hid and watched their camp. When the Petards left camp to he went into action, he ate a whole bunch of dry tang mix, he hurried down to their camp and ransacked the camp taking all the food destroying their tent and as the woverine would do, he left them a nasty surpise in their sleeping bags after the gas worked up pressure in his guts from the dry tang. He hiked the 2 day hike out and jumped on the train. He said he would imgine it was a miserable 2 night hike out of the mountais for those fellows as when he was leaving there was a front coming in.

So goes the Legend of Coyote Don Johnson, RIP brother.

lakota, it's calledEUGENICS

they are all about the life and welfare of animals yet they put them down
like the democrats care about the welfare of unworthy people, yet condone abortion (but not the death penalty)

they DO CARE about the animal welfare, they care about manipulating it completely
and to the elites the rest of us are just the same... and the "progressives" did sterilize people back in the day too, look it up
peta is friendly to the left for a reason, it's a small scale DNC
I'm glad you pointed it out but you gotta explain the parallels or people might not get it

billy, thanks for the story!  :D

if peta cared about the pets they could just spend their propaganda money on animal shelters (like the humane society- yes they're commies too)
at least the humane society actually runs shelters...

You are confusing two totally separate groups who have nothing in common. The bad folks are Humane Society of the US or HSUS. They are BAD and same as PETA. They do not run any shelters of any kind.

The folks running the animal shelters is just called The Humane Society and are not in any way connected to HSUS.

The Georgia Bulldog died and PETA wants them to replace it with a robot dog. Anyone else read that?   My fiance' works in internal veterinary medicine and can tell you all about bunny huggers, as many of her patient's owners are. And some of them treat their OWN animals like dirt and should probably never own another animal. She has treated two dogs that are owned by a very famous music celebrity (sorry, can't say who) and that owner never even completed the medication treatments or follow-up appointments. Complete hypocrit.

so my duke dog had nothing to do with HSUS?  thanks gb... I thought humane society shelters were part of HSUS.I'm relieved.
I thought they brainwashed him- I always tell him to bark at anyone driving by with a democrat bumper sticker but he won't do it!
