Thanks for the responce Smacky.  I'll have to do some saving up after Christmas, but at least now I have a goal and a source.  With luck I'll have it by this time next year-God willing. 8)

Let me add to the confusion.
I don't handgun hunt but I have looked at this platform.
The 38super was developed because law enforcement needed a bullet that would penetrate armor---the old cars, think they were not armor--slam one of their doors on your hand.
It was a round used for shootouts with the BG's of the Depression era---and it was good---not good accuracy but good penetration.
NOW, if it is handgun hunting you are doing and you want a GOOD, FAST round. Try the 9X23---more than the 357 can do.
Thanks for letting me intrude.
Blessings

williamlayton;  your coments are always welcome.  I nod to your greater experiance with the 38 Super.  It has potential not fully appreciated.  The more I shoot mine and try different loads the more I like it.  Unfortunetly my Taurus has a nonsupported feed ramp so max loads must be approached with caution. 8)

Do the newer Colt Commanders XPEs(I think they call them) have supported chambers in their barrels?
