My Pronghorn
« on: November 20, 2009, 07:46:48 AM »
Hi Everyeone!

I know this picture may seem a little late in posting, but I just found out about this site recently, and wanted to show off my first Antelope!
I got lucky and got a tag for Montana (I live in Alaska), and went hunting with my friend who live in Eastern Montana. We spotted this guy on opening day last month. He actually came around a knoll, and got within about 150 yards of me and my friend. He was curious, and gave me enough time to take an almost broadside shot to the lungs. He went down and stayed down. Of course I was using my CVA Optima Elite, in .243
I really like the rifle, and will probably get another barrel for it.
My friend liked it too, in fact, he just bought one for himself in .222 remington!

Anyway, this is a really nice website, lots of good posts and info here.

Thanks!  I used Federal 100gr. soft points. The scope is a Leupold VX-1
