I know little about knife's, an realize I don't have much of a prize here. But can someone tell me who made these knife's for Win.?  They are stainless steal with wood inlays. 3 knife set. I figure some kind of Japan junk, but would like to know.

Junk does NOT come from Japan these days, that was before we dropped the nukes on them. Since then if it comes from there it is a quality item. Now China and the Phillipines are another matter entirely. I have no clue where they were made but if you have the box it should say and most times it is etched into the blade where they were made. If it isn't then most likely you really don't wanna know anyway.

Nothing but the Win. logo. Yep, your probably right, I don't want to know. I'll give them one thing, they are extremly sharp. I'll probably just use them as needed, as I know I can never recover what I have in them. Bought them at a charity auction for cancer. At least the money went to a good cause.

Bill is right.  The Japanese have this reverence for all things sharp; be it knives, swords or saws.  The best factory knife I own is a gentelman's folder made in Seki, Japan.  It's in ATS-34 and holds an edge forever it seems.
I don't know what these Winchesters are made of, but in the past I know they were among the cheapest of Chinese manufacture.  The blades are/were typically 420 steel, which is bottom line for stainless.  You'll know more when you use them.  For all I know, for this model Winchester might have contracted with someone else.
