it only leaves me with this question...
You said/wrote 32ACP among the cartridges it would shoot.
Is that a "typo"? or does someone make "moon-clips" for the 32ACP? or what? How does that work?
Regardless, the story and subsequent posts are very good.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello
This style revolver has the Old School Long style firing pin on the Hammer. It is Long enough to fire the .32 ACP Cartridge without Moon Clips. I do not make a practice of shooting them, But it will if needed and no Other ammo is available... Hammerdown

Glanceblamm:  here in Tucson, Az the bobcats often use peoples rooftops to have there kittens.  They have been shown on the roof lying down watching the kits play, on the evaning news.  They also once made the news breaking into a house through a window looking for food in a kitchen. 8)

I might have possibly seen that one on TV...We had a Coyote make the news within the last two years when it showed up on the counter bar stool in Chicago which is around four hours north of me. I am usually interested in all accounts that involve predators, woods or otherwise.

Hammerdown, this is some interesting posting for sure. I really liked your reply #27

Lion and bobcat meat was s'posed to be highly favored by the injuns.
I have talked to a few "long-line" fur trappers about it and every one of them said that either was the best meat in the woods.
BTW, those guys also made potted-meat out of coyote which tasted like, well, like potted-meat. They called it coyote butter.
I tried it at a trappers convention one year.
It sure tasted like potted meat to me.
Never heard an opposing opinion about Lion or 'Cat meat.

Awesome bobcat kill.  I have seen a few in my day but always out of range. The last wildcat i saw was during a cold morining during a spring turkey hunt and i had gobblers around me. Besides he was on the small size range 25-35lbs max.  They are very elusive so to have bagged one so large is a special hunt. Congrats my fellow hunter 8)

I have never personally killed a bobcat.  One freind is he double l on them, though.  he shot two in one day out of a deer stand.  50 lbs is very large for a bobcat.  We have lynx , fishers and martins in North america, and I think it is possible that their is some interbreeding, or animals found out of their normal range going on a lot lately.  That is certainly a beautiful pelt on that cat.

There also getting to be more and more deer and turkey here in Western N.C., and thee are always reports of Cougars, or Pumas.  I know several reputable people who have seen them , some just caught glimpses of them, and some observed the cats for as long as a quarter hour. I truely hope to be able to bag one.  Officially they do not exist here, but They are here...  What does that make them?  Non game?  I gues in the wildlife department's eyes they might be.  Personally, i consider them furbearing varmints, like Coyotes.

I wonder if it is possible for the civit, or Civet cat to come up from Mexico, or S.A?  I know of several eyewitness reports of a solid black cat on  some Gamelands near where i used to live, but that was twenty years ago.  Jaguar?  Or do eastern Panthers range to a black color?

There are certainly some interesting critters in the woods these days.

P.S. I am also an admirer of all the "masterpiece" S& W revolvers.  Have a model 14, had a 15 and a 17, wish i had them back

You are sure fortunate that cat let  you take aim. I stumbled into a pair of coyotes once - me in the open and they in the brush. I froze but when I moved to get my gun (41 Mag Ruger Bisley) they jumped into thicker brush and barked at me. Nice cat. I too would consider eating the meat.  I've eaten lynx and its good.

I have an old S&W hand ejector in 32 Long. Since the 32 ACP has a tiny rim, they will "usually" work in the gun. I don't think anyone makes moon clips for 32's.

I also have a S&W M631 in 32 H&R mag - haven't tried that combo yet, but now I am curious, so will on the next range trip.

Ever since I first heard about this round I thought that a lever action would be a perfect fit for this caliber. If they make it I will buy it and I don't really care how much it is.

Hammerdown,

That is a really nice cat and IMO an even nicer gun. Great job! And thanks for sharing it with all of us. Also let us know for sure if they put the story in the magazine.
