How to camo a shotgun
« on: November 22, 2009, 05:12:21 AM »
To me guns are tools.  If the fit, work and fill a nitch that's what counts.  A few years ago I bought a Beretta 390 for $300.  The stock was cut short and some bluing is missing on the barrel.  It took me a year to get it to fit correctly.  I extended the stock with black plastic shims and a new recoil pad.  That said there is not much resale value in the gun but I don't want to sell it, this is my primary duck gun.  I've been hunting the refuges and want to put a flat camo finish on it so there's no glare.  I've heard there are companies that do it but I don't know their names.  I've also seen bake on spray paint finishes but have no experience with them nor will my barrel fit in the oven I have.  how do you camo a shotgun?

Ok, thanks guys!  There was a lot of good info here.  I'll be working on the Beretta soon I'm trying to figure a good oven set up now.  I'm pondering a heat lamp on my stainless steel blueing tank ::)
