Congrats to the 48 team
« on: November 22, 2009, 01:30:39 PM »
Congrats are in order to the 48 team. 4 titles in a row has never been done in Nascar history. Jimmie isn't the driver I pull for but they have really got it going on. I would also like to thank Tony Stewart and Juan Pablo Montoya for getting pissed at each other and swapping paint and making things a bit more lively. Like the Nascar of old. I reckon it'll be Daytona before I can get my next Nascar fix. Just have to take my Sunday afternoons with nothing to do out on the deer.

Although it is remarkable that the 48 team won 4 in a row it is making it very
monotonous to even watch the Sprint Cup cars anymore. If the same guy wins
every year it's boring for everyone except Jimmy fans. Unless someone else
starts winning soon I'm done with the Sprint Cup series. I hope Nascar
recognizes this because it's not good for the sport. Viewers will turn away
to watch something else.

Skunk,
I remember watching Dave Marcus driving an AMC Matador at Ontario Motor
Speedway in the 70's. He used to wear Wing Tip shoes. Great driver too!

Not a Johnson fan either, but have to give them credit. Was really wanting to see Martin win his first. Specially in a chevy. ;D

I'm so sick of Jimmie Johnson I could puke. Without Chad Knaus he's just another second rate driver.
Earnhardt Jr. makes me sick too. Hendrick ought to send him packin' and put somebody in the car that actually wants to race.

That's an awesome memory Robert. The wing tip shoes were the Marcis (I spelled his name wrong in the first post) trade mark, but I'm not sure why he wore them. Maybe it was a comfort thing. It would have been great to see him out in California at Ontario.

I'M NOT A JOHNSON FAN, BUT DO HAVE TO GIVE A CONGRATS TO HIM AND THE 48 TEAM FOR THEIR 4TH CUP WIN IN A ROW.  HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL FEB. 2010 FOR THE DAYTONA 500 AND PULL FOR MARK MARTIN AND TRY TO HIM A SPRINT CUP CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE HE FULLY RETIRES.  GO MARK GO

Hendrick's teams finished the season in the top three spots, Jimmie, Mark & Jeff., What an incredible organization.  I too would have preferred to see Mark Martin finally win a long overdue championship.  He is an excellent driver and a heck of a nice guy.  You never her him make excuses or bad mouth anybody when things don't go his way and always races clean.

On a side note to all the Jr. fans out there... What's Jr's excuse this year?  His stable mates finished the season 1,2 and 3 and he couldn't even make the chase.   I never did care much for his old man's "win at any cost" attitude but at least he could get the job done.

Junior either shot himself in the foot by missing his pit stall, etc, or just had luck that was all bad with wrecks and equipment failures. I'm a Junior fan but am sick of his racing this season.
