4pt meets H&R

 Took him this morning with my 20ga Tracker 1.A straight on shot at about 15 yds.

nice job! should eat well! I always say that its hard to eat the horns on the big ones!!!!!!

He was pretty big for a 4pt.He weighed in at 152 lbs.

It is hard to eat horns, but they sure are nice to stir the pot with!!! congrats
(bet you didn't have to look for that one, 20ga to the snout tends to drop em)

I guess you were hand feeding him apples to get that close.

Looks like you were aiming for between the eyes and shot a little low and to the left.

Were you actually aiming for the center of the chest ?

Get a big 22 quart canner to pressure cook him in.  That is my new secret.
add lots of onions and spices during the last five minutes.  Cook a little
extra long for the roasts and when you grab the bones the meat falls off.

Actually I was watching him work his way toward me for some time.As he got closer he put a large pine between us. At about 15 yds he was directly behind the tree and just stuck his head out to see what I was.I tried to center his neck but he dropped his head just as I fired and fresh venison was the result. The slug traveled the length of his neck and destroyed his lung on the right side.There was no exit wound,so it's still in there somewhere. I'll hopefuly find it tomorrow when I cut him up.
