Yesterday, rather than shoot the scoped Contender in 22 hornet, I shot the 1911 auto. H&G 68 bullets, stock iron sights, etc. I hit 7 targets. Normally I'd hit in the mid 30's. I got last place. But I had more fun than I had in a long time. Every one of those hits was an accomplishment, and most misses weren't off by much. Some were, however, and that really makes me think about what I did wrong to produce that. Several of the other guys watched and we all decided we needed to start a .45 class and see what we can do with them. I had a lot of fun, and it's going to be interesting to watch to see if I can learn to shoot better with more practice. My goal is 10! It also demonstrates that a .45 would be quite effective at 100M if you had to use it in a fight.
