Proposed 28th Amendent
« on: November 23, 2009, 06:15:36 AM »
I could support this proposed amendent, I think it would bring to a stop a lot of the BS we currently get from the jerks WE put in office. This is a great idea.  Only need 3/4 of the State Legislatures to pass this to become law...AND IT IS VETO PROOF including no appeal to the Supreme Court.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States".

Let's get this passed around - Congress has brought this upon themselves!!!

hate say it but its not gonna happen in my opinion..
if george washington was around still it might have a chance.. jmo slim..
now if you could somehow get a national vote on it ...the peoples common sense might not succumb to the barrage of media negatives ,,put out by our distorted reporting media..
as long as congress has to be counted on for this type thing its a fat chance..
they pretty corrupt possibly but most not dumb enough to go back to being just simple servants of the people..they would loose to many perks..

I'd definitely support it. Another I'd like to see would be that NO proposed bill could have amendments tacked on that have nothing to do with the original proposal. A bill should be judged on it's own merit and not a you got to take this too or I won't vote for it. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(

Just a thought on this subject. Once the constitution is opened
what else will they try to change in it?  Perhaps the 2 nd amendment?
It would be very dangerous to open it with the people in government right now.

we're on autopilot... didn't you all have civics class?

republican legislature, we're represented by people who do nothing but vote.. we don't do it except on a local scale
"true"/direct democracy, everyone votes on everything

referendum and something else (can't remember the word, initiative maybe??) allow citizens to petition to make a law.. I do think that congress still has to write it so they could word it to be loosely interpreted but that's about it, they couldn't stop it

also any challenges to it would be challenges to the most rich and powerful in america so that would be hard, although judges would hear it and the legislature and judiciary are always arguing about what the law REALLY means so that could open up some JUD on LEG infighting on the federal level....

man that might make a great new set of checks and balances.. we'd have to find a way for either of them: JUD or LEG to burn the executive branch though

29th ammendment: No or bankers or lawyers may hold an office in congress because it is a conflict of interest.

Eliminateing the 13th ammendment:
