7.62x39 ammo/reloading question

I'm looking to buy a 7.62x39 upper for my AR, and was wondering, What dia. bullet would I need to buy to reload.

To the best of my knowledge all your factory uppers will use a .310" bore. But that being said all my .310 guns would shoot .308 bullets just fine. Check out my sig for more

Your best course of action here would be to decide what bullets that you would rather shoot, then order the upper for that diameter.  They should be able to be found in either.  I reload and there are 100's more good .308 bullets that .310 or .311 so if it was my money, I would order the upper in .308 bore.  If I was buying it to fire surplus, I would order the .310.

im loading 310/311s in mine. So far the best bullet has been the hornady vmax followed closely by the seirra flat based spitzer.
