Only Sarah could have said it!
« on: November 24, 2009, 01:40:13 AM »
Last night Sarah was being interviewed by Bill O'Reilley when Bill hit her with it...

  O'Reilley said "you're a quitter" !

Sarah quickly replied.." I'm not quitting...I"M RELOADING" !

You go girl !  ..Lots of male politicos wouldn't even know how to reload !
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

I have never thought she was a quitter. I have never thought she should have signed on with McCain either. Palin quit the governors office for one reason that any reasonable person could have understood. The Democratic party is scared to death of her, as are MOST Republicans, and while the Office of Governor of Alaska was being BOGGED DOWN, with frivolous ethics charges, nothing was getting done.
The Democrats were in a frenzy to ruin her, and her so called friends in the Republican Party were sitting back watching.
She did a SELFLESS THING, to resign rather than allow the BS to drag the job of Governor of Alaska to a complete stop. She rather than quiting, was PROTECTING, Alaska from the Democratic liars, and the Republican weaklings failure to step up and help her. She metaphorically stepped in front of the bullet to save her state both money and slander. She is a TRUE CONSERVATIVE, and a TRUE PATRIOT "OF THE PEOPLE".jmo

Sorry, but I disagree.

I've read about how she was wronged in Alaska and by the media, and how people don't understand her.  I understand her fine.  She wants to cash in on her 15 minutes. Nothing wrong with that, but I hardly think she did it for the good of Alaska.

I'd say she did it for the good of her pocket book.

She's got what it takes to make a lot of money during the next three years. She will never be president.

(The republican party is still dead.)

She had big business mad at her in Alaska,(Rep.) She had liberals mad at her.(Dem.) And she made the people of Alaska happy, by doing the right thing. HMMM. Sounds like somebody to be taken seriously. As far as her quiting, if this were a 100yd dash, she would be the only runner having to jump hurdle's. I'ld quit the race too if all the other runners had a clear shot to the finish line. gypsyman

Dee told it like it is..
She could have taken a leave of absence, but the frivilous, liberal inspired lawsuits would continue. Remember, of all the lawsuits she faced, they didn't cost her ugly detractors a penny..but they cost her a half million..and ALL were proven wrong, with most thrown out of court.
If you were faced to keep your job, with $500,000 in legal bills, would you as an innocent person, keep trying to make it an even $1,000,000 ?

  Well; would you ?

Fact is, she has liberals all running scared...otherwise, they would simply ignore her.

I would like to see her succeed in a big way, but she's too honest and forthright to be a politician on a larger scale. She needs to work on her lying, stealing, and cheating...

Bottom line, she can't win.  She's stepped on the toes of the Republican party and the dems and the media will rip her apart.

What's left?  She can run as an Independent and all that will do is split the conservative vote and Obama wins again in 2012.......

She's doing what I would do.  Try to stay relevant for as long as possible to make as much money as possible. Tick, tick, tick.....

I'd say she did it for the good of her pocket book.
I should think so...she is still paying lawyer fees for all the crap they drug her to court for.  I would not have stayed as long as she did...

What's left?  She can run as an Independent and all that will do is split the conservative vote and Obama wins again in 2012.......
I would like to see where she could do some good, in congress, along with about 250 more with her attitude.  I would not matter if you had the most conservative constitutional person in the world as president...with the current congress it would do no good.  Everything starts and ends in the legislative branch and the president does not have power over them.  Congress holds the power. That is what needs to change.  Change that and the president changes automatically.

Far as Palin making money...go for it...pay off the lawyer fees and stash it away.  I don't have a problem with that.  If people would write a book on me I'd have one written right now.

If the republicans have trouble winning an election due to conservatives peeling off...too bad...it serves them right.  That's what they git for joing the dems all those years and pushing conservatives away.  Let that be a lesson to them.  If they want to catch my eye again they can boot out the lefties and corruption in their party publically.  Like Palin did a few times.  That is what catches my attention.

She is done as a nationally elected figure.  If she doesn't quit making all these TV appearances she's going to be done as any type of elected offical.

Apparently she still retains a fan base in Alaska, perhaps she could win a seat to Congress from there?

I expect her to run for the Senate seat in 2010.  In 2002 Frank Murkowski our Republican Senator ran for Governor and won.  He then appointed his daughter (Lisa Murkowski) to finish out his term.  At the end of that term the only person that ran against her was Tony Knowls, and Alaska had had enough of that son of a XXXXX when he was Governor.  I fully expect Sarah to run against her this coming year. And I think she can beat Lisa.  That will place her in the same position Obama was in when he won the presidency.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

If she chooses to run for the House or Representatives or for a Senate seat and wins, she still can't change anything.  Once you're there, you play by the leaderships rules or you have zero input and/or power.

The system sucks, but it's the way it works.

So you'd rather vote for an Independent who can't win to make a point, even if that means keeping Obama in the White House for another 4 years?

I would not write her off , The rep party will need to re think their platform and she might just fit in . Its a long shot but the 3rd party is a fear they have to live with . If they don't bring those voters back to the rep side they won't win .

Yes...and I will if there is an independent running that is a constitutionalist, and a republican running that is not.  Even if it means Obama has four more years... if it gets bad enough and stays that way long enough...you'll join the independent party as well...just takes time.  Took me a while.  Might take you longer and a lot more Obama's....

As far as one person making a difference in congress...my point is to elect many...but...let's not forget sometimes a piece of legislation boils down to one or two people...which we have just seen very recently.  That's a fact.

Congress is the key...it always was, and always will be...they have the power to change a presidents direction and have done so many times.  Once congress is fixed you'll get a decent president that falls into line.

That is the point , if one party or the other does not change then alot of people will vote 3rd party . The rep party has the most to lose and needs to change to bring in those of us leaning 3rd party .

While I agree with your position (on many levels), the pessimist in me doesn't believe that a third party can grow to the point that the Republicans or Democrats give a rat's a$$ about them.  Sure, on ocassion a vote may hinge on one vote but the majority of the time it's about seniority in the party holding power.  That's how things are done.  That's how the states get their "share" of government cheese and I don't think the majority of citizens are willing to chance being left holding the bag if the Independent can't bring that cheese home.

Oh I hear what your saying and I understand it, but when the majority of people figure out that neither party has been bringing "that cheese home"...people might break away from parties. .  I think the majority of citizens were left "holding the bag" under both parties majority rule.  We are still holding it.

I also don't agree with the majority of citizens these days.......being in the majority does not make one right or just.  Constitutionalists are in the minority these days.  Depends on what your looking for.  Your party to win, or America and the original constitution.  Some things to me are more important than any political party now.

Tea party, NY 23, Hoffman lost by about 3000 votes, gap is closing. Obama care will turn folks off as soon as they see the results. He's crashing now in the poles. New taxes comming for wall street and main street. Dollar falling, unemployment rising. People see Pelosi as a witch. ( see GB, I didn't use the other word :)  ).  In short, more Americans are getting PO ed.
I think Sourdough is right, her best chance is to run as a senator. I think Palin learns fast. She will be better prepared next time and have a clean slate to work off. And while I'm at it, I hope she nails CBS's Curick too.
