Got my first buck!!

I'm basically a meat hunter and my whole family loves Venison.  So usually when the brown comes a walkin through the shooting lanes, I usually shoot.  This year I made a promise to myself that I would dedicate the firearms season to getting a buck.  It happened yesterday.  During a drive through some very thick brush, I bumped this guy. I got him with a 12ga rifled slug at 40yds while he was in mid jump. The hole is covered by my pump action on the shotty.  I couldn't be more happy!!  Haven't measured him out yet but it looks to be a 115-120" 9 point.  He has another point coming off the back of it's right brow tine.  Not a trophy, but a fine first buck!!  He will be hanging off the wall.

Nice Buck !!! Horns or No Horns they are ALL Trophy's. Those horns are interesting .....they have that Caribou curve to'em. CONGRATS !!

Thanks for the replies everyone.  I think the rack is kind of interesting too.  I had an encounter with a 140 class one the second day of the season.  It closed to 60yds but the firing pin had apparently broken and seared off in the Encore from when I shot it a week earlier to that day and I just sat and watched after the hammer dropped and nothing happened.  I was sick to my stomach over that one for a few days.  I am quite happy with this guy though. I'll get that bigger one next season (if he isnt hanging off someone else's wall by then).  LMAO.

Congrats! even us meat hunters deserve a nice buck once in awhile. My kid got his first deer/buck this year a spikehorn we kid him that it scored a whole 7 in boone & crocket but to him it's a trophey and I couldn't be more proud of him.
