Installing Williams 5D?

I've got a lever action Winchester Ranger 30-30, it's not marked as a Model 94AE, but it looks just like one when compared side by side. I am thinking it was the "budget" model at the time. Is there any mechanical difference between the rifles marked Ranger only and the Model 94 AE? It's got two top screws on each side forward of the hammer (for scope mount?) I am going to put a Williams 5D  on it. Should I get the one for the Model 94AE, and does it mount where the rear two top screws are without drilling and tapping? The front bead sight is dovetailed directly to the barrel ( about 0.45" high ). Do I need to replace the front sight to fit the peep, and if so what height do I need? When I go to drive out the original rear sight, which side is it supposed to come out? Finally has anyone tried the "Twilight Aperture" for the Williams sights and are they worth it for early morning hunting?

No.

No, it mounts on the side of the reciever.

Probably,  most do.  I had a 94 that at the lowest apeture setting it was still 10 inches high at 100 yards.  I had to install a taller front sight to bring it into range.  Basically, at the lowest elevation, the line from the bead to the center of the apeture should be parallel to the bore.  Front sight don't come in every height but it is better to be a bit taller than too short.  BTW, sight height is measured from the bottom of the dovetail.

It usually doesn't matter.  Pick one and use a brass rod to drive it out.

Finally has anyone tried the "Twilight Aperture" for the Williams sights and are they worth it for early morning hunting?

Yes and while they are ok, I just unscrew the apeture and use the bigger opening as a "ghost ring" sight.
