Bushnell trophy 4X12 recticle
« on: November 26, 2009, 03:56:44 AM »
I need a scope for my 204 and would love a Leupold but I just don't have the money. I am considering a Bushnell 4X12 with AO. The Simmons I have on the rifle now works but the recticle is way to thick. How thick is the recticle on the Bushnell. Thanks, Don

I seem to recall having one long ago but too long ago to answer your question. Give it a bit more time this isn't live chat and some folks are doing other things. Someone with one might see it in a day or two.

Why not consider a Mueller APV 4.5-14. I'm not sure the price on the Trophy but suspect price is similar and the APV is a good scope with a life time warranty. Mine does fine on target shooting and prairie dog shooting.

I've had Bushnell Trophys in 4-12X; not a bad low-priced scope for the $, reticle is OK for larger varmints. I'd pop for a Trophy or a Legend for not much more if was staying in that power range. I believe a .204 (I have one) needs a more mag.; there are many good scopes: Weaver V-16, Bushnell, Bushnell Trophy/ Legend/3200 Elite 5-15X, Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14 that can be had for <$300.
Good luck!

I must be slow after all that turkey: meant to say I would pop for a 3200 ELITE or Legend. Also, B-nell. doesn't make a Trophy in 5-15X, they jump to 6-18 from 4-12. Didn't mean to sound like I was slamming your choice, just saying that sometimes you can shop around in those mid-line Bushnells and find more bang for your buck.
Never owned a Mueller, but have heard/read mostly good about those 4.5-14s. Good luck!

I can't really help you either.  I have a weaver V16 in 4x16 and I'm really impressed.  Why don't you save some $$ and get a Leupold VXI 4x12????  That can be had for about $300 if I'm not mistaken.

A Leupold would be great if I had 3 times as much money as I  have :-\. Don
