Thankful for our Freedom
« on: November 27, 2009, 03:09:11 AM »
I spent yesterday with my family reflecting on all the blessings that the Lord has given us.  One of the greatest is that we live in the United States of America.  Thank you to all of those on this board who have helped to keep this Country free.  We also spent some time in the afternoon exercising our freedom, enjoy the photos.

Hmmm....do I see the cover of the 2011 calendar?  Great photos, thanks.

Are the sparks from the remnants of the fuse being blown out of the vent?  Or is that powder from the charge being blown out?  What granulation of powder are you using, as what size is the vent?

Thanks for the pics, Spuddy. Very good!
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

We were shooting some golf balls with 400 grains of F.  I was also using some of the pine sabots that Rocklock made for me.  I was able to recover one of the sabots and reuse it three times before it came apart.  As for the size of the vent I am not sure the dia.  The sabots attached to the golf balls made the balls shoot very inconsistantly.

No steel yet.  I am a bit paranoid about where the balls will end up.  I have a buddy that has a farm that goes on for a few miles, with no neighbors or roads nearby.  He also has an old combine that he said we could shoot at.  That is where I am going to shoot the steel balls for the first time.  I was not comfortable yesterday shooting at my Dad's house to use the steel.

Well thats proly a good thing .

When you do blast the enemy combinder PLEASE take pics !!!!!

Have you figured out anything about GB accuracy ? anything at all ? other than my opinion that they just are not too good .

Gary

ETA they will be an eye opener ! with the load I told you off line it will back the thing up an honest 24" !

Out here in the west ...they go and go skipping and bouncing every 200 yards or so after the initial impact for .....a damn long way MT found one far way out there .

Your decission is a wise one .

Be sure you shoot the first few shots at an angle so if they do glance they don't come straight back.
