Gifts for wife and teens?
« on: November 27, 2009, 05:12:20 AM »
Got any good ideas for Christmas gifts for a wife, a 15 year old daughter and a 17 year old son?

I need a little out of the box thinking on this question. Thanks.

If they share your interest in guns how about a couple rounds of skeet, trap or sporting clays as a family.  One of the best gifts we can give is our time.

I keep trying to sell the concept of the gift of time. My daughter likes it a lot. My son is off in La La land now that he's Mr. Popular with the girls. My wife deserves more than just my time. I am pretty generous with it. But I think the skeet idea is an excellent one. I think it would be a fine thing for us to do that together. It's fun, it's easy to learn the basics. That's a really good idea.

The ladies, Antisipation, they like the antisipation and planning as much or more than the event. doesn't have to be that big, but enough thought and planning with them to be fun and make it fun. The boy want's instant gratification. Flash of some kind, chroam, paint, horsepower, volume, cool, exclusiveness, you know. good luck, eddiegjr

If I could only learn the anticipation lesson before I die, I will be a better husband. It works the same with guys about hunting and fishing trips. The anticipation and the memories are as big a deal as the actual event.

I remember being a 15 year old girl and all I wanted was new sparring gear for karate...that probably won't help ya, but most of my girlfriends wanted clothes and jewelry.  Now as a wife, the best present I have ever gotten was a day of rest while Matt handled EVERYTHING with the kids.  Something to avoid on Christmas...gifts she can use around the house...new vacuums and pots and pans need to bought when they are needed and NOT for Christmas presents. :-)

Yep, those free days are a real gift. Unfortunately our whole routine ensures that she gets plenty of them automatically. And you're right about the stuff for around the house. There have been plenty of exceptions though, like when we were first married we'd get each other stuff like curtains and a shop vac. My wife has asked for cookware, but that's because we like to cook.

My kids are like a moving target now. They change a lot quickly.

Boy, if I got my wife clothes or jewelry, I'd be in the doghouse. If I got her a vacum or power tools, I'd be husband of the year, plus I can use the tools too. I guess there are some that would use the clothes and jewelry too... ???
