Gents I need help! The Air Force moved me again and I am at Travis AFB CA. Need help finding a new gunsmith, none close by that I can find. I do not mind driving an hour or so but want someone who is handy with Rifle work, handgun (1911s & revolvers). Sacramento to San Fransisco area. Thanks Old Moss P.S. I will mail a when as well but want a reasonable turn around time for standard type work (2-weeks or so).

Old Moss, try Jack Huntington in Grass Valley CA. Have been using him for a lot of years. Top notch and fairly reasonabal.

Do a search for gunsmiths in California.
I know there are a couple of "name" smiths but their turnaround will be longer.
Some in Nevada, AZ, and Idaho but I am not sure those are handy.
I will bet that you can find one thru the national gunsmith organization.

NorCal Precision of American Canyon, CA. has an excellent reputation for smithing. I think American Canyon is right between Sacramento and San Francisco.
