Charter Arms vs LCR

Hey guys.  For concealed carry, woods gun, etc.  A Charter Arms in 44 Special or a Ruger LCR.  I reload for my Ruger 44 mag, so I already have dies, powder, etc for 44.  I like the idea of one cartridge (basically) instead of 44 and 38 special.

Question1:  Strength and durability of Charter Arms?
Question2:  Size/concealabilty of CA Bulldog?

Can't answer your specific questions directly as I've only seen the LCR in a magazine review. That thing is so ugly you couldn't chase me fast enough to get me to take one if it was free but then I'm not much of a Ruger fan as most around here know.

I'd definitely chose the Charter .44 Special over it. They are a little rough around the edges but are a solid value for the asking price.

I have a pink CA in 38 and just got a LCR. The LCR is unique and light. However in your situation I'd go for the CA. Always like the Bulldog .44. I kinda liked the looks of the old ones without the barrel shroud. The new CA are really well made in my opinion.

If a little more weight and a little more bulk are no problem I would go for the CA.   I have a .38 "Undercover" and it's a serviceable piece.  Not real pretty but definitely will get the job done.

unlike graybeard i love ruger yet id take the bulldog.  had one yrs ago and let it go,  thinking i should get another but dont know why.

I can't speak about the Ruger, but I had a CA bulldog 44 spl.  When I got it, it didn't work right out of the box.  I sent it back to  CA, and they fixed it so it would fire.  I never really felt confident enough to carry it for self defense, so I sold it.  It was poor quality and cheaply made.  The fit and finish was not good at all. 

Check out the S&W Night Guard.  the 44 spl is model 396.  They seem to be good quality.
