Aha!  You didn't know that Artilleryman had a crucial roll on the movie Master and Commader?  I think several others here  may also have been involved in that Movie...Richard, perhaps.

Thats  your Sunday night quiz.  What role did Artlleryman play in Master and Commander?

Norm, you can't play!!!

Artilleryman has recently posted in the thread on venting the reinactor cannon and the noon day gun he is active if you look.......

I am going to have a stab at it by saying he had a roll in the movie, is he the old sailor who had the head wound? I have never met him so I don't

know what he looks like.......

I've looked in IMDB and Wikipedia and can't find him. Also checked the credits of the movie. No dice!
The credits did mention that the cannon sound effects were recorded with help from the Loomis Battery and
the Michigan National Guard.

I seem to remember having seen this video before and some of this discussion, too. Of course it could be my CRS that had the discussion.

"you always pick the lesser of the two weevils"

It's funny victor I had those lines running through my head last night while looking for info on it.

I love English humor, the dryer the better.

My limey buddy Trevor and I were discussing the behavior (or behaviour, as he would contend) of our cats...

I said, "My cat will fetch a wad of paper and bring it back to me."

"Impressive Vic, but my one will dig a hole, poop in it and cover it up."

"So what? All cats do that."

 "With a shovel?"

 ;D

Yes the lesser of two weevils...ex49'r scores!!!!!

Loomis Battery with guns belonging to Matt Switlik and Norm Gibson our own Artilleryman.  Norm has been a member of this board since January 2006 and made over 600 posts.  Norms "voice" played a major role in the movie.

So now what is Norms other famous videographic work!!  A work by which we old timers came to know him....you rookies may have missed this early classic

I know I am going to invite some caustic comments by pointing out some omissions here.  However, in my most respectful tone, I maintain that this is the perfect moment in time to prove that punctuation is important.

Double D, when he wrote, "Nope not that movie Zulu!", left out two commas, one of which would clearly indicate that he was addressing his comments to board-member, Zulu, and NOT the movie Zulu.

If he had written this:  Nope, not that movie, Zulu!, just about everybody here would understand that he was addressing the        person and not mentioning the movie.  When you want to draw attention to, or get the attention of, a specific person who is known to you or your readers by name, try to use a comma immediately in front of their name.

Now Allen, (Kabar2), merely picked up on the duality of the meaning of Zulu, here, and chose the wrong one on purpose to have some fun.

We are pretty sure that we learned all that we know about spelling and punctuation from Mr. Gary Lorenz, but that was in a previous life, certainly not in this one!  He, He, He.

"Millieiffels" are those small units of length invented by a Frenchman and forced upon the French people by "their" government after many years of opposition (although this happened before Eiffel so they are really somewhat misnamed.)  They come 25.4 to the inch by definition and their abbreviation is "mm".  ;D
