Let us know how it goes, and if it goes well what choices you made on the Mountain Mold custom.  I have the 5" John Ross and have been shooting 440s at 1400 and it's a pleasant gun to shoot (Pleasant relative to getting hit in the face with a fish, it's got some recoil but not too bad).

I haven't started reloading for it yet so I'm interested in what works for folks.

Best of luck!

scout34, mountain molds are all custom, you design them from his website to what you want. This one I chose a plain based 500 grain bullet out of ww with a 93% meplat for hunting and 50% nose length?

scout34, how do you like the JRC 500? I was very impressed when finally able to buy one. Wish he'd come out with a match gun in .460? I talked to John quite a bit before buying and he's very accomodating but, hard to get in touch with. He is the goto man for 500s, he's done more shooting and load development work with this relatively new cartridge than anyone I know of. PM if you have a chance and tell me your thoughts on this, please?
