This is one of the reasons the internet and these threads can get so quickly out of sorts.

No place I read in this whole mess did I see anyone say the 30/06 is legal for DG. But now you post saying that the 30/06 with solids is legal.

Who said or is claiming that, and where did that come from? It's no wonder so many of these threads and topics fall into the bin so quickly!

JJ i dont know whats legal where your at and sure didnt mean to come off as a know it all and say it was. I was just refering to Don heaths post and figured if he saw it used it must have been legal. My point in all of this is that ive seen enough animals killed with 4570 and some up to 2000 lbs and i know what it is capable of doing. Personaly i doubt a cape buffalo is any harder to kill then a water buffalo the same size. As a matter of fact some will say the water buffalo is tougher to kill. Im not a guide and never will be. Im a hunter and my opinions are based on being a hunter not a guide. You are welcome to your opinion too and i respect it more then you think. But thats what it is just an opinion. Theres buffalo and elephants killed cleanly every year buy handguns that dont have the power a 4570 does and thats a fact. I wont buy into the storys that just because an animal lives in africa its majicaly more bullet proof then a an animal with simular anatomy living in the states. Ive seen 4570s break both shoulders of a 2000 lb water buffalo and a bison and exit the oposite shoulder and seen it more then once. What more does a bullet need to do? Like i said you have your opinion and i have mine. Ive seen guides out west for elk and moose that have opinions on whats a good gun for the job that i disagreed with too. Just because they did it for a living they thought there way was the only way and truth be told ive shot more game with different guns then most any of them had. Im not some wet behind the ear hunter either. But ill bow out of this post as i guess my opinion is gettting you riled up.

The internet does not rile me up! I also have no vested interest in what any one wants to use. As I have stated what must be pushing 100 times now, I don't care what people bring and I would not turn away anyone with any rifle that was their dream to use. We would work within the limitations of the design and be successful. Just as we are with archery, handguns, and muzzleloaders.
