Model 19-8???
« on: December 02, 2009, 03:03:03 PM »
Having been away from Smiths for a good long while ( I like 'em, just have't had the opportunity to own one lately) I'm not familiar with the 19-8.  Can someone give me a value on it?  I have a blue Contender .44 10" with Pachmayrs front and rear that a fellow wants to trade for.
Apparently the 19-8 has the frame mounted firing pin?  I'm guessing that the old Smith boys declared blasphemy when that happened and that Smith had gone down the tubes.  Still, is it a desireable piece or should I steer clear? This one is a 4" I haven't seen yet, but is claimed to be excellent.
thanks!

I have a 19-8 4" and it is very accurate and has a very light and crisp trigger and action.

It has full size, finger grooved pacs on it and it shoots extremly well. My wife would never let me sell it.
