I assume today's jobs summit will be similar to all the others where the only people included are people that think throwing more tax money at the problem is the solution. No opposing viewpoints will be heard.
By the way, there was a story on Minnesota public radio this morning about how some of the "stimulus" money was spent to train people in "weatherizing" homes. This money, to the tune of, I think, $130 million (but I may have heard it wrong) was specifically given to the state for this purpose. Unfortunately there is no demand for this kind of work, so after the six month course almost none of them are getting jobs. This is a classic tail wagging the dog situation in that people were trained into a vocation that had no customers, and it was done at your expense. A couple of potential employers were interviewed and they said that the graduates didn't have the skills they needed to do that kind of work.
