don't attack cabin4 for standing tall and not backing down to public opinion- if the politicians cared about the muslims in an altruistic sense then the bombing would have destroyed all the baath party loyalists, the infantry would have killed all the republican guard (did kill most of them), the army wouldn't have bribed the sadr militia- would have killed them all, and then the US would have left. seeing to the destruction of the tyrant was completely quite awhile ago guys. so was killing off most of his family and closest lieutenants. those people have their freedom. now it's political manuevering and imperialism. I understand the great and wonderful ideal of helping those poor muslims live a wonderful life... but I don't care about them. Flood, famine, plague, IED's and suicide bombers- all their problems and not mine. pcking78- most of your points are good but you seem to think people are bashing the troops- why? we say the principal of occupation is fundementally flawed by hypocritical sentiment. we don't blame the people who are honor bound to go- they'd get a dishonorable discharge which is like a felony- for refusing. we know that! we haven't said american influence hasn't made a good impact either, we said it's not wanted and usually resented.
