I got one about 3 weeks ago, I have been using mouth calls with pretty good luck but the first time I took the spit fire out I call more coyotes in three hours that ever have. i set it about 50 to 60 yards out and on all calls they came in within 4 minutes, the last stand was a double with in the first 1 minute. I used the dying jack and mad jack and when they come running I mute it, then get them in close with rodent distress or coxin squeaker. I am very pleased with this product and it has not let me down yet. I plan on going out tomorrow, some snow on ground supossed to be 35 degrees, but I have got an idea and will be putting a stuffed rabbit or small teddy bear as a decoy on top of the caller.

Those older Coyotes can be extremely wary and the above is a great piece of advise. When you see that flash of fur it can pay off to either shut up and let them hunt you down or to do some light coaxing as said.

Out the past two days for bout 4 hours each middle of the day. First day no yotes, second was really different. First stand called one in to about 50 yards, one round to the neck was an instant stop, used a stuffed floppy ear rabbit that I let my dogs play with outside for one day so it was dirty and missing an eye. i'm not sure but maybe the dog scent helped, but she came in slow, and when she was about 80 yds out she got a visual lock so I yelled and she stopped and that was that. Third stand two does came in, passed me within 40 yards and I thought it was over but a few minutes went buy and the does ran back towards the call that had the rabbit on it and almost there they spooked. About three minutes later a large female came in from left to right at a trot and went right at the call and one round directly in the tailpipe caused her to go down and take about two breaths and that was that. I really beleive the stuffed animal does the trick. I want to try out my handi 270 but recoil is to much to see impact like my AR does, I just ordered a Ultra Hunter in 223 so I can use the small ammo my AR does. Good luck!
