Looking at the Tesoro Vacquero- any opinions?

New at this, wanting to get a good all around metal detector for the hills of Wyoming and creek beds primarily. What do ya think?

They are excelent detectors. The Vaquero is a good product but I would recomend the Silver Sabre for entry level.

Thanks! I will look at that one. Is your reccommendation based on ease of operation? Will I lose much depth or discrimmination of metal capabilities going from the Vacquere to the Silver Sabre?

You won't lose any sensitivity but perhaps a little discrimination due to the frequency being broader in the Vaquero. I have used both but in my persuits, the Silver Sabre does everything I need to have happen. Even the most expensive detectors aren't complicated to use. Just remember, EVERYTHING has bells and whistles.
