That older group is scary in size, (oh crap, I'm in it) nice to see the 20 - 30 yr olds though.
Where are all those teenagers?

I was the youngest at 40.
One was 48,
the other seven were 60+ with one at 78.

I could never sleep the entire weekend because they could never make it through the night without having to pee or crap, burp, fart or what ever.  It was almost like a musical all night long: burp, poof, squeeky door, pitter pat, burp, growl......

The 78 year old was the cook because he usually fell down and spent most of the day drying his clothes.

"I was the youngest at 40."

Daveinthebush,
I can still claim you to be a "youngster" though I am only slightly less than a decade older. It's interesting that most of my "pards" are younger than you; some are more than the previously mentioned "decade" younger! They also pee, crap, burp and fart etc! What was your point again? :-D
Just wanted to pass along to any others in the second to last group that you ARE going to be viewed as a member of the last by the younger ones regardless!
best,
bhtr

ps...I would rather die than let on that I was tired around any of these "kids"

I'm the youngest in my group at 44. The rest of them are over 65. They are showing signs of not being able to tolerate the cold as well anymore and have alot more difficulity just getting there. That's the main reason we bought those new Polaris 4 wheelers. It is sad to see the decline in my long time hunting partners. Yearly I can see a difference in them. Very few young hunters joining the party. No disrespect intended but I expect to carry one of my hunting partners out of the woods dead one day, most want to go that way. Dad is in the worst condition health (DAV) wise and he wants to go while hunting or fishing. I sure don't look forward to that day, but it will be my honor.

I would rather die from a heart attack while on watch from seeing the buck of my life than from cancer in a hospital.  Just don't gut me first when you drag me out! :-D

I think I've got quite a few years to go but when my time is near I will probably just wonder off into the woods like an old dog. Or go Griz hunting. With a knife!!
Just another worthless opinion!!

Perhaps the lack of over 60 numbers is an indication of the age people are using the net, and little to do with weather they are still hunting.

I just turned 30 and have been hunting since I was 15.  Actually, as soon as I was old enough to be the 'bird-dog', I was stepping on brushpiles for cottontails and grouse while my older brothers shot.  Now our crew is mostly 'older' fellows (by older, I mean older than me :)  Average age is late 50s, with a couple of guys still in their 20s.  I'm hoping we can recruit some younger people to continue the tradition.  It's sad to see interest in hunting decline...when I was working in southern Ontario most people I met were either against hunting or indifferent to it.  That's got to change.

The reason I started this was to get you guys thinking. My camp has few prospects for young members. Only two guys have kids that are interested.
Our youngest is 38, our oldest is 83.
Take a kid hunting.
