Well, I should have been a bit more honest about the "sitting around" part. They actually do get used, but not nearly as much as the main ones. The problem with selling them is that I just won't. These thing have appreciated significantly in value. For example, one of the .22s is a Smith and Wesson model 41, a good gun for sure, but it's worth three times what I paid for it. The 45s are about half again what I paid for them. So there's actually a kind of investment value in having them.
It's also fun just to take them out and fondle them sometimes.
I can understand the passion for good golf equipment too. A great game for sure. I just can only do so much. If I could do more, I'd probably play golf. My son plays golf and we've been to some golf shows and shops. There's a lot of fascinating gear there. One thing I like about golf, like any good hobby, is that you don't need to spend a lot to get decent functional equipment, but if you want really good equipment, it's available. Although I'm not a player, my favorite athlete of all time is Jack Nicklaus. That man dominated the sport for 40 years. I don't think anybody else has ever dominated any sport for that long. He's an amazing man. I appreciate the skill of Tiger Woods, but it's that combination of time and skill that's makes Nicklaus unique.
