guys i need some advice on getting my son a shotgun. i was going to get him a youth remington 870 until i saw that tristar makes a semi-auto youth gun and it looks good. do any of y'all have experience with these guns and if they are really good enough i may get one for myself.

Unless he is already an experienced and accomplished wing shot I would not recommend a semi auto. If this is his first shotgun and will be the one he learns on I definitely do not think a semi is apppropriate.
I started my oldest with a cut down 870 then switched him to a semi auto once he was an accomplished shooter.

I bought one for my kid. He loves it and hasn,t had a problem. They get decent write ups too. But now he has started shooting trapp (and he sis darn good for an 11 year old) So now I have to get him a 12 ga
