Sorry for no pics, but I kinda tricked my 94c out with a Williams foolproof peep backup sight AND a XS Scout mount/Leupold 2X EER scope setup.  8)
Do it look like this? (Only a 94 instead of a 336)

This is one of my 375's, NICE setup!!

Indianapolis Gander Mt. had a marlin with wood almost as nice several yrs ago.  The Gander Mt in Mooresville NC has had one that would compare....if memory serves me right the last one (NC) was a 44 mag.  Have also seen wood this good on other manufacturers lever actions.
There out there, just few and far between...

This African impala was taken with one shot from 357 MAG carbine.  The damage is quite evident.

Nope, not my photo.  I copied it from Paco Kelly's LeverGuns site.

Bought THREE of these years ago when JC Penny was gittin' out of the shootin' iron business. :D ;D
They are some of the most fun shooters I have in the safes. Get the Dillon cranking on the .38 spl. and bring bandaids to put on your thumb from stuffing them through the gate. You're gonna love em.

Got one, had it for years, shoots smooth, .38 special or .357, any factory load, and wouldn't trade or sell it! (It would have to be a really good deal on my end!) BoomLover

I had one years ago topped off with an old Weaver 3/4" J2.5 scope which would hold five Federal American Eagle 158 grain soft points inside 1 1/2" at 100 yards. I never got accuracy even close to that from Marlin .44 mags or .45 Colt. I finally let it go because it isn't legal for deer in Colorado, plenty deadly but not legal. Three-five-seven is a legal deer round from a 4" revolver but not from a rifle, go figure. >:(

I had one for a year, and just recently sold it.  To me it just didn't have a usefulness.  I bought it to be a companion to my 357 revolver, and I shot it some at the range, but it was always too big for small game, and too small for big game.  I thought it would be a fun gun to shoot, but I never did warm up to it.  To me it's just not a good caliber for a rifle.

Have had a CP since 2001 and reciently aquired a C and will agree with everyone who said stock up on powder and primers! As far as a hunting rifle, it will drop anything in the southeast(where I live) with good shot placement and the correct bullet(different thread) out to around 100yrds.

If you are a large framed person you may not be as warm and fuzzy as others are, I am avg bulid/height and will not be getting rid of them anytime soon
Yes, I know it's cocked, It's got bullets too.

I was quoted a price of $539.00 here in AR.  That was for the 1894C, the SS and Cowboy are more expensive.  Unfortunately, the fellow at the gun shop told me that paticular gun was hard to find, given the popularity of Cowboy Action and the fact that Marlin is in the process of moving it's plant. He had no idea when availability would increase, he just suggested I call him periodically.

Well, I just ordered mine but I'm not sure when it will come in. I have a bunch of .38 and .357 targets rounds loaded with various weights of Bullseye and 158 gr cast SWC. I also have some Ranier plated RNFP in .38.  Will I have any problem with these loads?
Can't wait to shoot it!

According to Marlin, I can't use a round that's over 1.590" in length.  I measured a bunch of my handloads and probably 2/3 of them exceed this length, so I guess I need to switch from the cast SWC. They're fine in .38 though. Does a RNFP make a good hunting round, or are these more for target use?

I picked my 1894C yesterday, YAHOO!  I cycled a few rounds through it to see if there would be any feed probles but so far there weren't, even with cast SWC over the specified length.  I've yet to fire it though, perhaps one day this week I'll make it to the range.

It's the rifle I would keep if I could keep only one. It shoots every .38SPL or .357 load I feed it. Very handy weight, length & balance, plus it's a fine-looking rifle. Don't know what else I can say!
Ditto. If I could only keep one, this would be it. I shoot a 200 gr. LBT cast bullet in mine. Had a serious feeding problem when I first got it a few years ago, it would not feed Anything from the magazine. Sent it in to Marlin, they fixed it quick. Now it will feed anything slicker than cat snot on a door knob, and way more accurate than it should be. Very good quality.

If you live east of the Mississippi, get the .357 mag.

If you live west of the Mississippi, get the .44 mag.

  It's that simple.

Buy the Marlin first you will save yourself the cost of two rifles because you will not be satisfied with the Rossi

I have a Rossi Puma in .45 LC that I really like .  Better than my Marlin .44 Mag .

My .357 Mag is a Winnie M 1892 that some one converted to .357 Mag .  I like it too .

But , if eyesight is failing and you need a scope , get the Marlin .

God bless

 Grin

Over the years I've had both a .357 and a 44.
It seems that when one of the offspring gets a deer with one it (the gun) ceases to be mine and goes into the posession of the deer slayer.  They are great firearms, just make sure the kids are grown and have moved out before you get it.  Otherwise it won't be yours for long.

My 1894c is my deer rifle for ranges up to 125 yards. Drops them just as well as my old 30-30 did with all most no recoil, I load 158gr. soft points with a max load of Lil'gun and it does a number on deer.

Saturday I'll be trying to get a deer with mine.  I use 158 gr Cast SWC on top of 13.5 gr AA#9, sees to shoot pretty well with this set-up.
