born and raised in texas and there are many beautiful places in that great state. last 30 years been trying to cover all the rockies in colorado but never will. i have traveled some to the northwest and lot in the southeast. i have come to the conclusion that we are very lucky indeed, to have been graced by god, to have been born in such a beautifull country. above all else, no matter where you live in this nation, we are indeed blessed to have the freedom we all enjoy.

A mountain top with an outcropping of pine, in the Bridger Tetons. I've watched many a storm pass under me, many a foggy morning with elk and deer grazing below me, and many a snowy day with the Lord watching over me.

Not sure if I could pick just one. Idaho rockies in October for an elk hunt. Lake Michigan or Huron for salmon, with the sun just braking the horizon. November in S.E. Ohio for whitetail. Late spring on Lake Erie for walleye. I feel closer to God in any of them. Sometimes just walking in my own little woods, and sitting down and re-connecting. gypsyman

I've had the good fortune to live in several of the great western States. Now I'm retired so I can live exactly where I want which is western Wyo. But there is this time of year between ice fishing and boat fishing when life gets a little tedious. That's when I usually take off for the four corners area. If it's cool we drift south, warm and we hang farther north. Don't know if I'll ever get tired of wandering around in that weathered sandstone country.
