Has anyone or does anyone have a handy rifle they've rechambered for 250 savage?  Probably done to death.  Please excuse, I'm new to forum.  Harry

Welcome to the forum Katie. I have owned several 250 savages over the years but never in a handy rifle. There is a handy rifle section nearer to the top that might be a better place to post your question.

Not to veer too far off topic, but....

Ruger and Lypsey might eventually bring out their long planned 250-3000.  I have my fingers and toes crossed.  I don't know how married you are to the Handy, but the #1 is an excellent value and retains it's value as well as almost any other current factory rifle.  Think of it as an investment. ;D

I have a Handi chambered in 257 Roberts and the stock all custom shoots three shots into a 1/2". It was made from a 24" bull barrel 223. Shot a big over 200lbs WT buck with it last November. The 257 Roberts has a bit more zip than the 250 Sav.

Regards,

My wife called BS on that one, but when SHE was laid off about a year ago I had to sell a couple guns.  I made money on both of them (~25% on one and ~33% on the other and I hadn't had them more than 3 or 4 years).  I'm 'bout ready to replace those I sold, but if that #1 250-3000 comes out they will be bumped down my list.  That will be my young son's rifle eventually (that's what I said with my #1RSI 7x57, but I think I'm going to keep that one).  Daddy get's to break it in until he's mature enough to learn though. ;)
