The voters of Illinoise who voted for BHO over Keyes..have already demonstrated that they are out of touch with reality. Keyes would have saved our nation much of the agony it is going through at the present time.

Every time I see him give a speech in front of the troops , even the left wing media reports he gets a cool reception. Like he did at West Point.

I believe they respect the office, but can't stand the person. His address was lack-luster and completely demoralizing. Very poor showing for B.O. at Westpoint. Not only were those cadets bored out of their minds, but a lot of them seem to have skeptical looks on their faces as well.

When I was in the Army, we had to show respect for the chain of command, and since the Pres is the top of the chain, he would get get it. We were not allowed to express our opinion. I doubt you will hear an active member of the military say anything derogatory about any dignitary. They would be ordered to be enthusiastic.

  The military demands respect for the office of the C in C, and that is not an option !
  In that video you can see that there was no disrespect exhibited toward either C in C, but there was a huge difference in the enthusiasm ....which IS optional.
  Combat troops would be the first to show either enthusiasm or tacit distain...since they would be the ones to truly suffer the pain of inept leadership.
According to the COMBAT experienced troops I know, they figure having BHO as C in C is about like allowing a coyote to babysit your chickens.

I live close to a military base and see troops every day when out and about. I have addressed this same question to several of them; here is what I have found.

1. Most Black troops think he is the savor.
2. The troops of Mexican descent vary according to their status and the status of their parents.
3. Most Anglo troops think he is “dog poop!”

I must say I am in agreement with the Anglo troops……………..

Considering that blacks are the ones in our economy to suffer most when things are bad, it's an interesting commentary on ideology that people will sacrifice their welfare for a symbolic victory. This sort of thing happened with regularity in Soviet Russia. They'd lock somebody up in a hell hole prison for 10 years, he'd come out at age 50 with white hair looking like a cadaver and then spend the rest of his life publishing stories about how great communism was.

Perhaps a better question of the blacks is how they feel about their reduced job prospects now that Obama has wrecked the economy.

he's using the race card to get them worked up... they don't seem to see that his identity is "progressive" not "black"... if they figured it out then they would be quite upset. they won't figure it out though. go to alan keyes website and check out his five articles (five now, more now maybe) on black american heritage and how obama is a total liar... or read the book "liberal fascism", it'll enlighten you- like a jack-o-lantern

It does seem to be a stupid for any identifiable group to vote for somebody who is "one of their own" even though that person uses and abuses them.
...But let's look at another situation; we see a terrible crime done in a high crime area, many witnesses and almost all of them have an opportunity to speak anonymously or confidentially to the investigators. Turning in the perps would eventually start rooting much of the crime frrom their own neighborhood!
...But still, those who could help to clean their neighborhood, won't cooperate with law enforcement.

It is almost as if some folks live in a culture of "anti-heroes".

You're right. That reminds me of the race riots in Miami, particularly around the 1980 Rodney King police beating issue. The blacks burned the businesses in their neighborhoods. That made about as much sense as any other self inflicted wound.

The Rodney King incident was in California, so any rioting in Miami must have been a sympathy riot, or just a convenient excuse to do what those folks do best.

I loved what happened in California, though, when the blacks tried to do some riot-shopping in Korean owned businesses. The Koreans armed up and defended their shops. They didn't know that you're supposed to allow the rioters to have their way.

I only know how my son and his pals he served with feel/felt when Obama got elected. They were in Iraq at the time...according to him most of the base he was on was kind of upset he won the election, he also says of course there are solders who voted for him, but the numbers were pretty small where he was.

Speaking of Alan keyes, I went to see him speak once, and also had listened to other speeches he made over the years. Some would say he is way out there...as for me, he is one of the few people left who is a true constitutionalist and has the passion one should have for your country. I always liked Keyes and what he stands for. The time I heard him speak, he was running for a primary...a woman in the audience stood up to ask him a question..."if you get elected what are you going to do for the poor people"...his answer was quick and hard..."what are YOU going to do about them?" He reminded her the government does not have any money..but she does. I doubt this lady voted for him...LOL!

Right on Matt...color makes no difference. This guy ran against Alan Keyes for the seat from the Chicago area..when BHO was just a community organizer.
I was disappointed then, that Keyes didn't win and much more disappointed now. I would have voted readily for Keyes in the last presidential race, ahead of Obama or McCain. Keyes is a Christian, a Constitutionalist (including 2nd amendment) and believes in free enterprise.

I don't know everything about Keys position on all the significant issues. I will say however, he's been around for a while and I have never heard him say anything about the issues I disagree with. He certainly advances himself as a constitutionalist.
