I found this on another sight, and thought some here might want to take advantage of it (I sure did!!). Also the people on the other forum said they not only got the 3 Bushmans with sheaths, but also a Kudu folder as well!! I am not affiliated with this company in any way, it is just a great deal for $30, so mods please don't pull it...It says "seconds", but they couldn't tell why when they got theirs..

Looks like a good buy but I have little use for a large knife with no guard, too easy for a slick or bloody hand to slip onto the blade. POWDERMAN.

Thats a good point, like the smooth black handles on the old Buck fixed blades, not so good in the rain!
But some electric tape or wire or paracord would fix the Bushmaster up just fine. And with a 12-20" handle stuck in that hollow grip that thing will cut as good as any machete.
You could harvest bananas all day long!
It's not a 'primary' knife, it's a backup and rough-use tool. Like a 'truck gun'.

Rio thats my plan for it. Its gonna hang on my day pack. Gonna use it for back up. also wacking away bigger stuff. & save my smaller knifes edge for smaller chores & field dressing.

I have the small and the large Bushman. The small one is more practical, makes a good skinning knife. Doubles as a spear point with the hollow handle. It is carbon steel and has very sharp edge. Spear point could come in handy in a survival situation, if you are saving ammo. Maybe not so much as in hunting, but killing a wounded or trapped/snared animal without noise from a gun. I made a walking stick from a handle, and fashioned the end of the walking stick to take the spear point and a frog gig point. Stick is about 6' long. Walking stick-spear also works as a pole vault for creeks if not too wide. A good stick should be about 1-1/2" in diameter for strength. This is not a throwing spear but for jabbing. I tightly wrapped paracord on my handles. A round or two of duck tape would be good too.

The small one actually makes a good skinner and both were surprisingly sharp. The large one makes a good chopper. I suppose you could put a short handle in it and use it like a small axe or machette. Blade on large one is about a foot long. On the short one it is about 6-8" from memory. I do like the small one, in conjunction with their tomahawk with the hammer on one side. I like the hawks over a hatchet because of the way the handle can be replaced with just a knife if need be to carve out a handle. No split end to have to wedge like in an old style hatchet. The large bushman can be made into something like a brush axe or a large heavy handle spear. I just happened to believe if things got really bad, long term survival will require a lot more dependence on primitive tools an weapons for stealth, and to conserve ammunition.
