Folks, we have been on the current servers now for 3 years and as many of you may have noticed they are starting to slow down a bit and we are starting to get more and more crashes. As many of you may know we have 2 servers that we run in a mirrored configuration. Well we are looking add another server to our rack. This server will be dedicated to Go2GBO.com and GraybeardOutdoors.com as we had wanted back three years ago. This will be a costly upgrade and we look to spend around $2500 for the server, setup and hosting. We can not make this purchase on our own as we just do not have the funding after just paying the hosting fees on our current servers which is $822 each per year.

We are going to start collecting for our New Server fund and see how close we can get to the target amount. If you enjoy this site and have found it useful then we are asking you to donate using the paypal button at the bottom of any page or use the " Paid Subscriptions" link in your profile. As always donations are not required to use GBO or any feature of GBO but all are appreciated.

I will keep everyone up to date on how much we have raised on this thread.

Never been known to refuse an opportunity to insult the neighbours. Commonly associated with non payment of gambling debts.........usually with reference to pasteboards (that's cards to the rednecks ) but more likely to be Horse Racing..............Archaic association with the Welsh..........head East on the M4 from London M25 Cross the Bristol Channel....pick up the M48 or M4 and basically you're in Welsh Wales.Best castles in UK are in Wales........they never put up much of a fight so most remain intact. how did you pay it ? setting up a paypal account would be an idea...........then us foreigners can give easily......what about it Greybeard...............or I could always pay into Royal Bank of Scotland.........the way it's going you'll get about 5c on the Dollar.

If you'll scroll down the page on all pages on the forums you'll see an orange button that says Pay Pal Donate. You can click it to donate assuming you know how to do that. I don't know how or understand anything about pay pal but Matt does.

I paid $5. just now, it takes about a minute from start to finish using the orange paypal button at bottom of page, if you have a pp account, that is.. If not the account takes a few minutes to create.

I think we may not be able to get it all done till after the first of the year but we almost have enough to go ahead and buy the server anyway.

Surely the total doesn't matter........this forum is run on donations........so if there is a surplus , it can go into the maintenance and moderator english lessons fund. gave my $5.
