Results from our 2004 Wish List Poll

We had a Wish List in 2004… the results might help with current polling.

We had 305 replies/choices.

TOP TEN

22   35 Whelen
14   6.5x55mm Swedish
12   257 Roberts
12   357 Magnum
8    7x57mm Mauser
7    260 Remington
7    280 Remington
7    32 H&R Magnum
7    41 Magnum
7    444 Marlin
7    45-70 Government
7    7.62x39mm

Like to add some options here.

Stock (pallet or laminated or synthetic or walnut or thumbhole or etc?)
Forend (Mannlicher or etc?)
Barrel length
Barrel type (Stainless steel or Blue or Round or Octagon or etc?)
Sights (scope or Iron open or Ghost Ring or Peep or etc?)
Recoil Pad (Steel Plate or Limbsaver or etc?)

MY CHOICE would be 41 Magnum, Walnut stocked w/Mannlicher forend, 17” Octagon blue barrel with leather stock butt cover.

OR would be 35 Whelen, Walnut stocked w/Mannlicher forend, 21” Octagon blue barrel with leather stock butt cover.

My choices would be:

1 - 45-70  28" oct brown barrel, walnut wood, limbsaver, tang mounted folding peep, color case frame.

2 - standard Handi in 225 win, 26" barrel, blue, standard wood, standard pad, drilled for scope.

3 - NEVER HAPPEN  a frame strong enough to handle the 270wsm, 26" med barrel, blue, limbsaver, drilled for scope.

Dpe, I do believe you like the .338 caliber!  Have a friend that has one of the JDJ .338's in a TC and loves it.  44 Man

Never owned one before the Marlin 338.  Impressed with performance and BC of 338 caliber.  May have to sacrifice my 25-06 Ultra to a rebore. :-\  Would rather rechamber a 338 Fed Handi barrel. ;).  DP
