« on: December 12, 2009, 12:04:56 PM »
this will be my first climber w/o a back bar......yeah!   ;D

just bought this viper ss for $120   :o

I'm impressed with the construction

and the question....for securing the top of the seat: does the bungie go around the tree?

I'll never get rid of my old saber but this thing is nice....and light too

I'm really diggin it so far

I spent about three hours in this stand last night and it is a real winner.   Talk about easy and quick to go up the tree then get down out of it.
At first I was sitting on the upper part while climbing but after being in the tree decided that might put too much strain on the upper part so going down I used the bottoms of my fore arms on the sides.
this was my first stand with cables and it was kinda weird making sure they came up  while the parts were moving but no problem.

man, talk about comfortable....I have no reservations about nodding off (which I did a few times) in this stand.  I laid my rifle across the rails and kicked back.  All I needed was a heater (and some deer to show up)  ;D

Things to think about
Careful of using on extremely hard wood trees RE Hickory.
tye the upper and lower together in case the lower slips off your feet, I found this also helps if it bites too deep and you cat't get the lower loose.
Overall a great stand.
