Difference between the two
« on: December 12, 2009, 04:07:23 PM »
Is there a way to determine which receiver can handle high pressure rounds and which can handle rimfire/shotgun pressures? I know that NEF has SB1 and SB2 receivers but how are Rossi's identified?

Other than the Youth 410/22lr frame I was not aware that Rossi had different frames for the shotguns and rifles.  Larry

That's what i'm looking to find out. I don't want to get a barrel and blow the gun up from pressure.

I'm not absolutely sure, but it appears to me that all the Rossi single shot frames are the same.  I have a Trifecta with the .22, .243 and 20 gauge barrels in a youth stock.  It appears that the full sized stocks utilize the same actions.  Next time I'm at the gun shop I'll have to check it out.

It is my understanding that Rossi produced (produces) several frames in different sizes.  This was part of the problem that killed their accessory barrel program.

Your best bet is to contact Rossi themselves for clarification.
