Watch the news. I might not turn the TV on for 2 or 3 days. Between the quality of the programming and the slant of the news I had rather not have to sit through the ordeal.

I just now have tv for the first time in about three years... because my g/f wanted to get it.  I've watched maybe a few hours total in the last few weeks now- half of it the channel that is covering congressional debates.  I actually watch that instead of the news telling me the "synopsis" that always carries half-truths (I like my lies straight from the source).

Whenever the latest scandal comes on that has been played to death I just turn it. That has nothing to do with me and they are so far away from my life and how I live it. You couldn't pay me his billions. It wouldn't be worth it. What does a man profit if he gains the whole world and looses his soul? Not worth it. Not worth it.

you're thinking not worth it, not worth it

he's thinking net worth, net worth... unless he's thinking of living up to his word before his wife, families and god: to be honorable and honest with his wife, and faithful to her.  then he thinks "not worth it".  cosmo is a magazine my girlfriend reads... all that celebrity crazy stuff makes me sick.  it's an interesting read and there's lot of them sitting around the house so I read them too... can't ever understand any use to them other than shock value (like looking at a car wreck for the sake of morbid curiosity, or roadkill).  kids look up to it though.  it's the strangest thing.  I think news to some extent, congress, animal planet, discovery channel.... that's about it for me.  can't understand or tolerate the sitcoms and "reality" shows.

Never saw a more useless waste of time to watch a so called reality show. My wife watches them sometimes. I'll walk into the room while one is on and will stop for a second and watch then I will say, "Obviously they didn't get beat enough when they were kids" and she'll agree with me and I'll go back to reloading or watching history channel, hunting and fishing shows or baseball. Thank god for DVR. I can watch just what I want and fast forward through the commercials.

Roger on that. I've got 75 rounds to do. Got a bunch of 45 acp to do too. Weather's been below zero or single digits so can't sit in the garage long enough to get anywhere. It's not as bad as it sounds. It is insulated and a space heater does just fine most of the time. But not when it's that cold out.

Only Fox news. They have their silliness too, all the Tiger stuff, but if the Obama people hate them then they are my kind of journalists.

I dont care about tiger one way or the other,  He has made some serious career effecting decisions, (Notice i did not say mistakes, a mistake is when you dont look when making a lane change)  his decisions will make life hard for him and his family. but I dont need to hear any more about the details, its salacious, and unimportant to the big picture. As a matter of fact So is tiger!  ;)

crap movies are getting churned out pretty quickly too

I bought bruno about two weeks ago.  totally disgusting.  borat was funny to some degree but this one was just nasty, and it categorized straight/shooter/religious white men as either zealots, whitetrash or closeted angry anti-gay gays.  not the news but the _MEDIA_ is corrupting kids so quick.  what happened to the vigilante groups that popped up out of sewers to deliver a ninja beating to scumbags in the inner city (ninja turtles), enlisted dudes blasting the bad guys (gi joe) or a humble man sneaking off to ferociously fight powermongers and evil- then sneaking back and taking no credit for vanquishing them in melee with a sword (he-man)?  no it's just sick, nasty, carnal and queer (the original weird/abstract) to a degree that it does no good in shaping a child's morals or conscience.  no motivation or role models to instill virtue in young children.... unless fornication and being a gangsta smokin' that tree are morals worth pursuing.

I know it's off topic from the news but the entertainment is run by some of the same tycoons.

None of my business.  Let the man live the way he sees fit.  As long as it does not interfere with my way of life, not my concern.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

i agree that is for him and his family to sort out. yes it is sickning to me that it is broadcast all day every day as if it were NEWS. so much money riding on hime..i had to laugh when some of the righties were speaking of the value of redemption for him and that it would not hurt his BRAND. it was obvious to me they were paid to pump him up and that he would seek counseling and on and on. they were just trying to save a buddy in some corp. that had invested in his BRAND.

I have not watched television news since the 1970s. I'm not fully sure of what is going on with Tiger Woods. Seems like he's got some personal problems. I don't really care much, but I was hoping he'd be in solid competition with Nicklaus as the world's top long-term golf pro. I hope this tempest blows over and he can return to exercising his gift for the game.

Basically the way I feel about it too.  I mean really - super rich guy with gobs of cash cheated on his wife?  As if that's rare.  He just happened to be unfortunate enough to get caught (and trust me I'm sure he likes the media attention even less than we do).

Same thing with Sanford, Letterman, Spitzer, Clinton, Edwards, and every other so called "scandal" that has hit the news within the last few years.  I really just don't care.

Tiger who? ;D

I watch a little of the news.
Just to keep current.
