Did FA ever offer a shoulder stock for any of their guns.  Someone on Gun Broker is selling and 18" with a Shoulder stock, I have never heard of it before

I shoulder stock on a handgun is a no no without BATF paperwork and, I believe, a $200 tax.

They offered something similar for a while ... not really a shoulder stock as it was not fixed to the gun, but I believe they quit producing it in lieu of arguing with the ATF.

MarkH,
Is right, it was not attached to the gun, the revolver just sits in the fixture. Yes Freedom Arms did make the one that was pictured with the 18" barreled revolver. I have one that lives in the factory Freedom Arms marked box with instructions. They are very rare, and I have seen them sell for $200.00 with out the factory box and paper work. Dick Casull was sellimg them back in his days with Rocky Mountain Arms in the late 1970's. The brochure I have shows them for sale from Rocky Mountain Arms for $29.95 if I remember right. To bad the the revolver with 18" barrel had fixed sights. It would have been fun to shoot with a scope mounted on it.

The shoulder stock is an interesting piece of Freedom's history.  However the instructions that came with mine cautions against using it on large caliber guns as it was designed for guns more in line with 45 auto and 9 mm. It should be neat with a model 97 in 327 or 224-32.

The name finally came to me - the Steady Arm stock?

When I was looking up some info for another post, I ran across a 1984 price sheet that lists the "steady arm"  for ...large double action revolvers and autos... for a retail price of $46.20.  I have price sheets back to 1983 and forward but don't see it in any other one.  It would be interesting to know how many they made.
