CVA Stainless Stalker at Dick's
« on: December 14, 2009, 11:23:14 AM »
Looking for any info on the above rifle.  Dick's has advertised for this week for $179 a Stainless Stalker by CVA.  I stopped in after work and the counter person knows nothing about it besides he has it now and its been in stock for only 2 weeks.  He let me look over the 270 model and it comes with the stainless Bergara barrel stamped with optima elite on it.  The frame looks like the Wolf line, but has "Standard" stamped on the receiver.  Is this an optima made exclusive for Dick's and uses the same interchangeable barrels?  The barrel itself cost more to buy than this price.  Thanks for any info.  (I know that CVA made the mountain stalker side hammer bp years ago for Bass Pro Shop)

Is it interchangeable w/ the other optima elite  barrels - if I want to buy a bp 50 cal barrel, can I put it on it?  The counter help doesn't know anything about this line so was of no help.  He said that CVA did not issue any info for it.  What manual came with your box?  Thanks in advance for your reply.  for $179 this would make a good companion w/ my 270 handi.
