Dry itchy skin
« on: December 15, 2009, 06:57:35 AM »
My hands, forearms and shins get dryest in winter. My legs even get itchy from the dryness. I use my wife's hand cream, like Vaseline intensive care, works pretty good. Do you have a favorite?

I just bypass the lotion altogether and go right for the sand paper. I usually start out with good quality 40 or 80 grit, especially on the arms and legs, depending on how bad the itch. Then I follow through with 150 and 240 grit until I'm becoming smooth but yet I can still see signs of where the sand paper has grooved or rippled my skin. After the itch becomes tolerable, I smooth my skin up with 600 grit and then finish off with a nice full body buffing with 000 steel wool. If the itch isn't too bad, I can sometimes get by without the sand paper and use a good wire brush instead. ;D

i think rex6666 means gold bond.  they hve good products.
whatever you use put it wherever is dry and itchy right after drying off from shower.  don't use too hot of water and use a mild soap that doesn't take off all the natural skin oils.
put em where you want em
