I assuam you mean components, if so the answer is yes you can still get it, but it`s getting harder to find all the time. There is no reason you could not use plastic wads though, and they are easy to find and hold better patterens.

mag tec still makes brass 410 shells. you may be able to get away with using the 444  but it isnt the best to use I have heard of people using the 444 brass out of a 45-410 contender  but it never orks out very well.

On the 19th of April, 1775, a tyrannical government sent an army to disarm its citizens. They ran into a touch of trouble.

If you're really cheap, (like me) you can buy an arch punch and cut your own wads out of felt. If the felt is too thin, layer it up w/double stick tape. I've also used celotex ceiling tiles as wad material on larger guages.
By doing that and avoiding a shot cup, I can get 3/4 oz. loads in a 3" .410 shell. Velocity isn't as high, but neither will the pressure be. Sure beats paying 10 bucks a box.

I saw an internet link discussing making 410 brass cases from British 303 brass.  I have some surplus 303 brass and just bought some cream of wheat to fire-form the brass.  Been studying the load too, my interest is in buckshot loads.  Lots of dalog about surface area vs. penetration and it appears #1 Buckshot is a good choice.  The question I have is about dies.  How does one resize the brass case once fired and how often is it necessary to resize it?  How useful are 41 magnum dies in this process?

A guy at the range gave me two 3" long brass shotshells for the 410.  I may disect one to see how it is construced.

I reload brass 410 and also plastic with a homemade loader for the plastic.  Not too tough.  I took my 410 brass and ran them into my 44 mag re-sizing die until it stopped. This put a slight neck to it, which allows a standard plastic wad to seat tight against the brass.  Otherwise, I was getting way too much blowby to get a good load.  No, they are just as good as any other 410 loading.  I use fletch-tite on the overshot card to hold it into place.

I've used the .303 and 444 marlin brass before.  The 444 works better by all means as the .303 tends to be tight at the rim on most of my .410 guns.  Resize the necks with a 44 mag die, 44 mag gas check makes for a good overshot card and as a over powder wad.

Curious about the .410 brass. Does it expand much? How often do you need to full-length resize it, and what do you use?
I've got a home-made sizer for the plastic, but don't know if it would work, or need to be used on brass.

I make 410 from 303 brass and found you can chuck them in a electric drill and just while turning then bevel the inside corner of the brass a little bit with a small file and they will chamber for fireforming fine but you must aneal them just past the shoulder for them to straiten out.If you look at a plastic 410ga shell and a 303 Brit.side by side you can see what I mean anyway got 100 made no problem and use them in my singlshots so as not to loose them my Saiga throws them everywhere and likes 3" Magnum as intended.I have not had to resize, might in a pump or auto. Here is a place to find info www.endtimesreport.com  Miles Stairs has some reload info there and how to form. The 444 brass has a smaller rim and on most guns the extractor will not get enough bite to pull the brass out and jump over the rim and then what a mess getting them out.
