there is about3 ft. of shore ice about 1 in. thick.a castor set out of the queston?

Many times I have broken ice,from my castor mound,out to the open water.
The beaver will shoot right in the channel you have made.... I have done it with several inches of ice--and it works.

thanks again, our season does not open until 12-26-09 . this is driveing me nuts.
