After seeing the price and the "Tamer" name you included, that isn't the new style syn stock, it's the old style, same part number. :-\

You gotta be kidding me??? >:(  Are you specifically speaking of the camo or black?

I was very specific and talked slowly, maybe it has been replaced?

I doubt it for $17.50, that's the same price listed in the 2008 price list.  :-\

Guess I will find out in 7-10 days.

That could be a very Un-Merry Christmas for someone there at CS if it turns out to be the older ones.  >:(  I'll call them again tomorrow and try to visually verify via email. I doubt the order has been filled and sent to shipping already.  ::)

I think the only way to get whatcha want is to order by firearm model number, in this case you'd have to ask for the stock on the 357mag or 44mag, or one of their combos.

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't charge $10 shipping, but maybe you can cancel it tomorrow, worth a try.  ;)

Sorry I didn't catch that earlier, the price is what tipped me off.  :-[

You're right!

I got the package today and, sure enough, it's the same old synthetic forend that I already have a few of. >:(

Guess I'll find time to call them again.............

Dinny,
That stinks man!!  The first time I saw the new style syn stocks I REALLY liked them!!  It was a 357 and I had it in hand, heading to the counter when Momma swooped in and nixed the sale... (Note to self...Don't bring momma to the gun stores!!)  I went back a couple days later and it was sold... that was the last 357mag I have seen here locally, that will be a year last February!!

Call Choate Machine and Tool (www.riflestocks.com) and ask for a synthetic checkered fore end. That is where I ordered mine. I gave the man a few details about the stock and he verified they would be the same. Sure saved some headache of trying to go through H&R directly.

Old style plastic stocks are available from Choate's site for a few pennies less. Tamer forend is the same as a regular forend except the Tamer has no sling swivel.

Thanks! I will do that, seems like anything would be easier than dealing with those folks again at H&R/Remington. :-\

The guys over at Choate will definately be getting all my varmint stock business! I am work and the wife just called to say the new set come in. She says it looks just like the pics I had showed her on the H&R site. It is longer than a standard fore end and has great checkering!

Sorry to hear that CW. My honey went with me and said I could have it for Christmas. I bought while she checked out the rest of the stores inventory ;D
