41caliber, then the 414 supermag.   This should be a good handi caliber.

Krag improved in 375 caliber , then you have the 38-72Win.  Use a necked down 405win case for the thicker rim.  280gr @ 2,400fps is easy. 

Rimmed 35 cal, then 356 win or 35winchester

I'm happy with what they got already.  I've got a .17HMR, .22Mag, .223, .243, 30-06, .35 Whelen, and 45-70.  That takes care of anything I want to shoot.  To exceed what they are currently making they would have to totally redesign the frame.

kevensmith5:  They already is a lengthier .45LC, two in fact.  .454 Casull and the .460 S&W.

  How about a .223 necked up to .24 cal. That would make it legal in states where a .22 isn't.

I would love a 32 H&R in an affordable rifle.  A Handi-rifle would fit the bill.

I would love a 32 H&R in an affordable rifle.  A Handi-rifle would fit the bill.

If they made a 327 Federal Magnum, you could shoot 32 S&W Long and 32 H&R Mags as well, making it a very versatile rifle. :)

I would be intriged by a .35 rem 'improved'.  A little less body taper with a sharper shoulder so they could not be used in some of the older lever actions, but loaded to a higher pressure than the Rem.  I know it still can be duplicated by a good .357 max, but it would be a new 'factory' loading out there that is not otherwise available.  And it would not quite be a 'whelen' and would be without the problems of that round.  Or make it a .35 whelen with a rim!!!  :)  44 Man

Don't think it will fly, Otony and our poll on special production runs took care of my optimism there LOL. However..........perhaps we could get a "classic" run, in one caliber a year, like the rem 700 did back in the 80s/90s. Say start with a 22 savage high power and go up... or with the 405 win and go down.......OK , Hell, start with the 32-40 winchester and go BOTH ways....

You already have a Magnum frame.  The .270 is   65000 psi and same
as magnum cartridges.   BUT then again the magnum cartridges
have larger case head areas and that results in more rearward
thrust.

It works. I have done it.   I take a 22bolt action and shove the
bullet into the rifling by a measured small amount
With the barrel pointed down I pour the amount of powder
into the barrel that is desired that is more than normal
22 LR and try to make the powder a little slower burning.
Then put an empty stinger case into the chamber all while
the barrel is pointed down.  The Stinger case is stronger
than the other rimfire cases and will not blow the rims
off at pressures that regular LR cases will.  I use an inertial
bullet puller to get the empty cases.
I cannot remember now but I had an article that explained
how CCI was able to get the extra velocity and it was
by using a slower powder that they mentioned the name
of.  That is how I knew to pick my powder to be just
a bit slower.
IF screwing around with 22s like this, be sure to wear
goggles, remove the extractor from the bolt so it doesnt
break when the rim blows off and be sure to remove your
magazine before you shoot.   BTW, the rims alway blow
off far before the action or receiver would fail.

I have a NIB 500 S&W, I may just wait for a 327 (or 375 win) to come out and trade. If I keep saying 32....32.....32..like Dorothy and "there's no place like home", maybe they will do so.

While there will never be any shortage of cartridges that we all want chambered in the Handi platform , I think realisticly that the 327 Fed would be a dandy addition to the line up.. Specially for those of us that like matching calibered long/short arms set-ups..

 I have considered the 327 Fed due to its versitility of multiple cartridge ( 32, 32 long, 32 H&R and the 327 Fed) abilities , just havent found the one i want when the funds were there... Yet!
